In short: Ecuhawk includes a UDS (ISO 14229) diagnostic console and diagnostic test steps over ISO-TP on CAN. Diagnostic descriptions can be imported from ODX 2.2 or CDD files, with CSV as a simple fallback.
What you can do
- Diagnostic console with request and response decoding.
- Read and clear DTCs (service 0x19 and 0x14) and read DIDs (0x22).
- Diagnostic sessions and tester present. Security access is coming soon.
- UDS frames shown inline in the bus trace.
- Diagnostic steps inside automated tests and operator-mode stations.
- A simulated UDS server for testing your tests without hardware.
Diagnostic file import
ODX 2.2 is the preferred format. Ecuhawk also has its own CDD importer for both KWP and UDS variants, currently in beta, so you can reuse the diagnostic data you already have. If you only have a spreadsheet of DIDs and DTCs, a CSV import works too.
Questions
Can I run UDS diagnostics on Linux?
Yes. Ecuhawk runs UDS over CAN on Ubuntu 24.04 with SocketCAN interfaces, as well as on Windows.
Can I use a PEAK or Kvaser adapter for UDS?
Yes. Ecuhawk connects through python-can, so PEAK PCAN and Kvaser interfaces can be used. Testing with them is part of the beta; a Vector VN1630 is already tested.
Does Ecuhawk import CDD files?
Yes. Ecuhawk has its own CDD importer for UDS and KWP variants, currently in beta. ODX 2.2 is the preferred format.
Does Ecuhawk support DoIP?
Diagnostics over IP (DoIP) is on the roadmap. UDS over CAN is available now.
